Georgia Bulldog Recruiting: 2013 WR Tramel Terry Commits to the Dawgs, Ends "Annoying" Recruiting Process

Tramel Terry, the top wide receiver in the State of South Carolina for 2013, announced his verbal commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs. That's according to this tweet by Sports Talk Radio Network:

It's the second time Terry has given his verbal to the Bulldogs and many may wonder if it should be  met with a degree of skepticism. After all, it is only March and you can bet that neither South Carolina nor Clemson will be backing off the in-state star anytime soon.

That said, the makings of this commitment seemed destined two weeks ago when Terry, along with a few of his close friends, made the trip to Athens for what seemed to be one last dot on the 'i' for the young man from Goose Creek.

"It was good to bring them up there," Terry said, "because Jalen (Stevens) is working on getting that offer. I think it really motivated them to work harder, because Athens is a real great place and they really liked it too. So I was just glad I could have them with me so they could experience it."(Gentry Estes, "Athens is a 'great place'", Dawgs247, 2/26/12).

Read between the lines only a little bit and you will see that Terry was not only reaffirming what he felt for the Bulldogs when he committed along with Brice Ramsey and Tray Matthews this past summer, but also offering up a little extra motivation for his friend, Jalen Stevens, who doesn't yet hold a Georgia offer but knows he has the opportunity to garner one if he gets down to business and shows well at Dawg Night.  

Stevens was so impressed with the trip he's already envisioning himself playing for the Bulldogs—along with a few of his close buddies. 

"Gerald Turner and I are real close," Stevens said. "It would be crazy if Gerald, Tramel and I could go to the same school. I was thinking, you've got Shaq Wiggins (Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek) coming in plus you've got Tray Matthews; that’s your starting safety and starting corner. You've got Reuben Foster -- he might go there, I don’t know -- at one middle linebacker spot, and Gerald Turner, at 6-2, 245 pounds, at the other middles spot, and me on the outside; that would be crazy." For all the negativity surrounding Georgia's inability to lock up multiple commitments during their Junior Day even this past weekend, they are certainly in the wheel house of a lot of the top prospects for 2013, wouldn't you say?

As for Terry, and those who might be wondering if his re-committment is solid enough for fans to rest easy, let's just let Terry speak for himself.
