Foster is extremely close to Flowers, as are many of his teammates, and he, like they, considers the coach to be like a father.
"He changed my life. I had an attitude problem and Coach sat me down and had a talk with me," said Reuben Foster, a junior all-state player. "Now I’m a good student. My attitude’s good. I don’t have a father – he’s my father. We want him back...I just want my Pop back."
Whether or not Foster follows through on his proclamation is unclear, but you can bet his situation will be monitored very closely over the next few weeks as more information is released as to the circumstances surrounding Flowers' dismissal (there are allegations currently swirling, but I won't mention them here) as well as how that dismissal will effect the players he leaves behind—most of whom have multiple offers from Division I football programs.
